I needed to visit the Memorial because of my interest in that event and all its implications. It certainly is impressive and solemn even on a glorious spring day — just like that day in Even though this is public space for now I did want to mention another and new public space — the High Line walking park.
What a pleasant surprise to find this converted space with grass and rest areas with benches some unique art and street performers. Yes, no billboards or other garish reminders that we live in a commercial filled world. Kudos to NYC for adding to the public space with this unique conversion.
